Fear Narrows Vision

Fear Narrows Vision

One of the hidden costs of fear is that it changes the way we see the world.

When we're in survival mode, our minds become focused on immediate threats. We stop exploring possibilities, overlook opportunities, and react instead of think. It becomes difficult to act like our true selves because fear is making many of our decisions.

A difficult game of chess reminds me of this. When you're losing, your first instinct is often to believe the game is already over. Panic sets in, your thinking becomes clouded, and you stop looking for good moves. Yet many games are saved because a player stays calm, keeps calculating, and discovers a move that others would have missed.

Life isn't very different.

The opportunities don't always disappear. Sometimes our fear simply prevents us from seeing them.

As long as there is a move to make, there is still a chance.

Stay calm. Think clearly. Keep playing.
